The Community and Education Team delivers a wide range of projects and activities throughout the Greater Nottingham Conurbation and aims to help groups and individuals learn new skills, and benefit from increased opportunities within nature based, horticultural, and environmental activities. As well as underpinning Groundwork Greater Nottingham’s environmental ethos, and supporting local communities to improve Nottingham, our projects support the environmental and health and wellbeing outputs of the main local council area strategic priorities too.
We also recognise the increased health and wellbeing benefits for people engaged in outdoor activities, such as food growing, and through this we help people to gain practical skills, improve their health, and make a positive contribution locally. Additionally schools are increasingly recognising the benefits of outdoor learning, and many are looking to become recognised as green schools, all of which we are able to offer support around both in terms of curricular development, and ground improvements.
We have an open honest and consistent approach to partnership working. We strive to share best practice with others in order to help grow and develop the sector, and are always exploring new ways of working with groups, individuals, businesses and other organisations. We hope that you will be as excited as we are about this work, and will consider getting involved too.
