Community & Education

Acorn Resource Centre Cooking Sessions

This project was funded by the Co-op, and delivered jointly by Groundwork Greater Nottingham’s Community and Education Team, and FIG (the Food Initiatives Group). The project aimed to support service users at the Acorn Resource Centre (which supports adult clients who have a range physical and sensory impairments) to increase their confidence in cooking, shopping and growing food, and to encourage healthier lifestyles.

A range of practical sessions were delivered offering support around; how to make affordable and healthy choices when shopping, how to grow your own fruit and vegetables at home, and how to use the produce you have purchased or harvested in a range of easy to cook, healthy meals.

Groundwork Greater Nottingham is the trading name of the Greater Nottingham Groundwork Trust Ltd, a charity registered in England and Wales; number 1003426.
